Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland specializes in the art, science, and finance of social and environmental change. Bridging diverse disciplines and communities, her life mission is to heal people, society, and the planet we share.
Dr. Copeland is presently founder and chief executive officer of The Women Invested to Save Earth Fund (WISE), a financial inclusion and equity enterprise supporting women and people of color environmental technology founders reviving low-income communities most impacted by climate change worldwide. She is also founder of Black Philanthropy Month, a 22-year-old global public awareness campaign every August and year-round to make Black funding more powerful and equitable worldwide that has engaged 60 countries.
A longtime singer-songwriter, she recently released her debut album, "Blachant," a contemporary jazz spiritual album rooted in her African American heritage and diverse cultural experiences. A recipient of many leadership awards and prolific author, her work has reached at least 20 million people over her more than 40-year career. She is recognized as a HistoryMaker, included in The Congressional Record for her significant civic contributions. She is also recognized by Philanthropy Unbound as one of the world’s Top 100 Philanthropists.
Educated as a cultural anthropologist and urban designer with two undergraduate degrees from Georgetown University and three graduate degrees from University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Copeland has a diploma in social finance from University of Oxford. A certified, master life coach, she has a board governance certification from Santa Clara University. She is currently completing her spirituality coaching certification at the Chaplaincy Institute, a Bay Area, California USA interfaith seminary.
