Helen is Manager, Education and Communications at SVX, where she leads on venture and investor education initiatives, particularly managing the WIN-VC program. WIN-VC is a collaborative of eight (8) organizations across Canada working to create a more equitable venture capital environment through supporting women and non-binary entrepreneurs become investment ready, and providing investor education to drive more capital towards underserved communities. Over the past four (4)+ years at SVX, Helen has developed and led dozens of educational products and initiatives to drive greater learning and engagement in the impact sector, with topics ranging from equity and diversity, to green investments and circular economy, to affordable housing, to capital raising and deployment. She also oversees SVX’s marketing and communications initiatives. Prior to SVX, Helen worked across related sectors such as policy (Embassy of Canada, Washington DC), philanthropy and grantmaking (Urgent Action Fund), and sustainability (Social Nature). She graduated with a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of British Columbia (‘20) as a Loran Scholar and was a former Social Innovation Academy / Propel Impact Fellow ('20).
