Diane Bérard is a freelance solutions journalist based in Montreal.
Solutions journalism is the critical presentation of solutions to the societal challenges of the 21st century.
Over the course of her career, Diane Bérard has been editor-in-chief of a business magazine; she has also contributed to numerous print media, as well as being a radio and TV columnist. She is currently a contributor to Radio-Canada's "Zone économie".
With a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's in economics, Diane Bérard values community involvement. She is a director of the Institut du Nouveau Monde, where she chairs the strategy committee. This is a non-partisan organization whose ambition is to increase citizen participation in democratic life.
In her spare time, she has written five books, each corresponding to her current explorations. She has covered capitalism excess ( Les fous du rois); thought leadership
( J'ai perdu ma montre au fond du lac); motherhood (Deux filles le mercredi soir); grief
( La chaise rouge devant le fleuve) and resistance to change ( Le réflexe du castor).
She is currently working on a documentary about solutions to the housing crisis. It will air on all Radio-Canada platforms in 2024.
